Betty Jonetta (Burger) Connor, a resident of Chandler, Oklahoma, passed away in the evening hours of February 16, 2026, in Chandler at the age of 81. Betty was born on October 13, 1944, in Independence, Kansas, to JonathanBurgerandMary (Andres) Burger. Her family eventually moved to Wellington, Kansas, where Betty graduated from high school.While in Wellington, Betty and her family were active members of the First Christian Church.
Following graduation, Betty met the love of her life, Kevin J Connor, and they were married in Wichita, Kansas, on December 8, 1962. While in Wichita, Betty attended the Wichita Business College and Wichita State University. Betty worked in a variety of industries in several capacities as an office accounting administrator and business planner.
Betty and Kevin moved to Campbell, California, and they added two sons to the family.
Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word searches, and also crocheting. She loved to bowl and liked watching her soap operas on television. And was an extreme aficionado of her beloved Dr. Pepper. Most of all, Betty was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother, and she loved her family deeply.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, MaryBurgerandJonathan Burger; an infant brother, Jerry Lee Burger; and a nephew, Joseph Michael Connor.
Betty is survived by her husband, Kevin J Connor of the home; a daughter, Trish Sherman of Olathe, Kansas; two sons, Clancy Connor and wife Liz of Sapulpa and Kevin Connor of Chandler; a sister, DaleneOelkeandhusband Dennis of Hoxie, Kansas; a brother, Jim Burger and wife Juanita of Wichita, KS; by three grandchildren, Isaac Connor, Jason Connor, and Gabriel Connor; other extended family; and many good friends.
A funeral service for Betty was scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Wellington, Kansas. Interment followed the funeral at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Wellington under the direction of McElyea & Owens Funeral Group of Shawnee, Oklahoma.
