Ninth & Manvel: Stop signs going up

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) is set to install a four-way stop at the intersection of 9th and Manvel around the first week of March, according to Chandler City Manager Jason Orr.
Orr initially made the request for the signs on Nov.

Two felony charges for Meeker man

A Meeker man faces two felonies after he reportedly assaulted a Lincoln County deputy sheriff and threatened to burn down his grandparents’ home.

Democrat meeting

Democrats in the area are invited to the next meeting of the Lincoln County Democratic Party on Thursday, Feb. 8. It will take place in Chandler at the Destinations restaurant, according to the group.
Dinner and conversation will kick off at 6 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m.

New pastor installed at Christian Church

The First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ in Chandler, announced the installation of its new pastor on Jan. 21. Lori Brisco Smithey is the new leader of the church, which has been shepherded by numerous pastors since it was established in late 1891, according to a release.

Rain-soaked roads

Last week’s ice storm across Central Oklahoma heavily damaged Lincoln County area roads and it will take some time to fix them.
It impacted travel for those who use the roads daily, among them school buses and businesses.
