Lincoln County Commissioners

Lincoln County commissioners have approved the Fiscal Year 2022 Estimate Needs and they also have been approved by the Lincoln County Excise Board. The commissioners’ action came during its most recent regular meeting. Chairman Lee Doolen said the Estimate of Needs totals approximately $7 million.

Rowynn Ricks, left, Andy Allen of the Oklahoma Water Resources board presented the Meeker Public Works Authority with a check for $1,635,000, which will go toward rebuilding and replacing the town’s manholes and repairing 17,000 linear feet of sewer line.

Seven new COVID-19 cases

The number of new cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties attributed to COVID-19 has risen by only seven, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. No new deaths have occurred in either county since the last report, according to the OSDH.

Meeker Town Board

The Meeker Town Board of Trustees has approved the final budget for 2021- 2022 that includes a three percent pay increase for all employees.

Big water

Heavy thunderstorms and torrential rainfall in the past few days have caused widespread damage to roadways and has ruined hay crops in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties. Lincoln County Emergency Manager Wendi Marcy said a number of roads were closed in the county, including some highways on Sunday.
