Election July 13

Voters throughout Lincoln County will decide two propositions during a special election on Tuesday, July 13. Proposition 1 is for establishing a countywide ambulance service district and Proposition 2 is for construction of a new county jail.

Independence Day events

It’s almost the Fourth of July weekend, and towns across Lincoln County are having events. Chandler will have a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Bell Cow Lake on July 4. It will be put on by the Chandler Fire Department, and there is no cost.

Gathering to remember

Adorned with roses, ribbon and an American flag, the table was set for the guests that would never arrive. The table was set for the soldiers that died in Vietnam in the A Company Ace High 22/12 Cavalry in the First Air Cavalry in the 1970 tour.

10 more COVID cases in the counties

The number of new cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties attributed to COVID-19 has risen by only 10, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. No new deaths have occurred in either county since the last report, according to the OSDH.

Hearings set for Stroud pair in abuse case

Pre-preliminary hearings have been scheduled for a Stroud couple charged with abuse and enabling abuse of their three children, but the woman reportedly was a victim of domestic violence herself. Vernon James Reinhardt, Jr.

Dale hires new employees

The Dale Board of Education Monday evening hired three new support staff employees and appointed a custodian and co-custodian of two funds. Acting School Sup. Ky Wilkins said Jeanna Hartman was hired as the new high school secretary.

CIC holds bean dinner

The Citizens for the Improvement of Chandler are having a bean dinner fundraiser at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25. The cost is $8 per person, and you can purchase tickets by contacting a C.I.C. officer or member, or you can purchase tickets at the door.
