Work began last week on 15th Street in Chandler, with a crew shown here just east of Manvel Avenue. The construction project is a partnership between the Sac and Fox Nation and the City of Chandler.

Meeker sewer on agenda

Meeker’s Town Board has called for a meeting next Monday, March 8, to determine how they will pay for a major sewer and manhole project. Town Administrator Dickie Walton said the meeting is scheduled for noon at Town Hall.

Meeker locks front door

The Meeker Town Board during its most recent meeting took action on two agenda items and no action on another. They voted to lock the front door at Town Hall until further notice, Town Administrator Dickie Walton said.

Area Agency on Aging program offers assistance

Lincoln County residents who have a loved-one in a Long Term Care facility, can receive information and assistance through various programs overseen by the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District Area Agency on Aging.

Budget outlook better than expected

The state Board of Equalization met Feb. 16 to certify revenue for the Legislature to appropriate for Fiscal Year 2022. The board approved a constitutional limit on appropriations of $7.9 billion. A total of $9.6 billion in revenue was actually certified, but that amount includes $1.

Davenport Special Election is Tuesday

Voters will go to the polls Tuesday for the March 2nd Special Election for the Town of Davenport, according to Lincoln County Election Board Secretary Melissa Stambaugh. Stambaugh offered the following information and tips to keep in mind as the election approaches.
