The initial shipment of vaccine to combat the COVID-19 Pandemic is expected to arrive in Oklahoma between now and Dec. 14 and area health care workers are among those who will receive vaccinations in Phase 1.

Maddie Gregory, center, and the Chandler High School band were among the parade participants at the annual parade in Chandler Saturday. The parade is sponsored by the Chandler Chamber of Commerce and was one of three Christmas parades in the country.

November Education sales tax show increase

The education sales tax figures in November show an increase from October in all of the three area school districts in Pottawatomie County that receive it and for the DA Justice Center, the Pottawatomie County Treasurer’s office reports.

McLoud approves $65,000 budget amendment

The McLoud City Council has approved an amendment to the 2020-2021 budget in order to pay for $50,000 worth of millings and also to cover the cost of hauling them. Total of the budget amendment was $65,000. City Manager Buck Day explained that cost for hauling the millings will be $15,000.

God’s House of Prayer meeting community needs

The public is invited to a free Community Christmas Dinner at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19, hosted by the Outreach Ministry of God’s House of Prayer and Open Door Ministry. The event will be at Douglas Gym, 299 W. 14 th Street in Chandler.
