Chandler Cheer goes to Gameday state

Chandler cheer qualified for the GameDay competition and will compete at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Moore High School.

A lot on the line

Week 10 of the regular season will be decisive for area schools fighting for better playoff rankings. Heading into the final game, four teams are guaranteed to make the playoffs, but the question is: where they final in the district rankings.

Lions romp, 48-7

Kaden Jones took the opening kickoff to the house and Casmen Jones added a 20-yard touchdown run two minutes later, ending any doubts about the outcome of the game in just 127 seconds of clock time. By the time the game was over, it was 48-7 and the Lions had their fourth straight win.

All-State fastpitch teams announced

Rosters for the 2022 All-State fastpitch teams have been released. Jayden Haney from North Rock Creek became the first fastpitch All-Stater in school history and will play for the Middle East team. Sam Hartman and Addie Bell from Dale were chosen for the Small East team.

Davenport wallops Drumright

Scoring seven touchdowns in the first half, the Davenport Bulldogs shut out Drumright 52-0 last week to run their season record to 9-0. Because of the 45-point rule, the game was over at the conclusion of the second quarter.

Above, the Choctaw bench got a good look at North Rock Creek’s Rayne Jones during his long run to the end zone Thursday. North Rock Creek closed out at its last season as an independent and will compete in Class 3A next season.

McLoud wins big

Fresh from a resounding 28-7 road win over Bridge Creek, the McLoud Redskins will honor their senior footballers and cheerleaders as they entertain Douglas Friday night. It’s senior nigh at Redskin stadium and the kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Haney signs to play at Eastern

Stroud: Four in a row

Stroud turned Homecoming into a real celebration Thursday night, hammering Allen, 46-0, and clinching a spot in the Class A playoffs. The win came behind a strong defensive effort and was the fourth straight victory for the Tigers.

Lions handle Millwood, 24-6

Chandler rolled past the Millwood Falcons Thursday night, moving into a four-way tie for first place in District 2A-2. Chandler, Prague, Crossings Christian and Jones all own 3-1 league records. The Lions visit Meeker Friday night and also have district games remaining with Kellyville and Prague.
