Following is a list of upcoming events in and around the Chandler community in the month of February The Chandler Lions Club meets at 12 p.m., each Thursday at First Christian Church, 614 Manvel. The Chandler Rotary Club meets 12 p.m., each Friday at Rt. 66 Bowl.

New books at the Library

The Chandler Public Library has received new books to start off the New Year. Library patrons can check out the nonfiction book “Act Like You Got Some Sense” by Jamie Foxx and a children’s graphic novel “Cat Kid Comic Club Perspective” by Dav Pilkey.

Honor rolls from Seminole State College

Officials at Seminole State College have released the names of honor roll students for the 2021 fall semester. Three separate honor rolls recognize students for their academic achievements. The President’s Honor Roll is comprised of students who maintain a perfect 4.

Chandler, Stroud, White Rock honor rolls

The honor rolls for the first semester of the 2021-2022 school year have been released by officials at Chandler Junior High School. The following students were on the Superintendent’s “A” Honor Roll.

Eagle Scout rank

Bryston Smith, son of Brian and Brandy Smith, earned his Eagle Scout rank on August 14. A scout since he was a tiger cub scout in kindergarten, Bryston’s refurbished an old gun cabinet into a bookcase for the local food pantry.

Dale 4H raises money for SPAR

SPAR-Saving Pets at Risk, a 501c3 charitable organization, recently received a generous donation from the Dale 4-H Club. This donation of supplies for the care of SPAR dogs will be used for the rescues taken in from the tri-county area.

December student Rotarians

Chandler High School seniors Sophia Eggum and Presley Martzall were named student members of the Rotary Club for December 2021. Sophia Eggum, the daughter of Sarah Eggum and Dana Tom Eggum, has one older sibling, Grant Eggum.

NWOSU announces honor roll for Fall 2021

Fall semester honor rolls at Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Enid have been announced by the Office of the Executive Vice President. Those on the President’s Honor Roll earned all A’s, or a 4.0 grade point average, in a minimum of 12 undergraduate or nine graduate hours.

Delmer and Sylva Summers: 63 years

Delmer and Sylva Summers of Stroud celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on December 28th. The two built a life together, a home, a family. Along with the joyous moments and good memories came bad times.
