January Rotarians announced

Emma Cummings and Payton Miller have been selected as Rotarians of the Month for the month of January. Emma Cummings is the daughter of Rafe and Christon Cummings. Emma has one older brother, Ethan Cummings.

Filing periods open for municipal races

The filing period for municipal offices in Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties opens at 8 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 6 and continues through 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.

Warrant issued for registration violation

A $15,000 bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Davenport man charged with two felonies in separate cases. A formal felony count of violation of the Mary Rippy Violent Crime Registration Act was filed Jan. 24 in Lincoln County District Court against Thad DeLacy Tucker, 36.

McLoud approves ARPA spending

McLoud City Council members during their most recent meeting approved spending ARPA funds on several items, especially for the city’s police and fire departments. They adopted an ordinance and the emergency clause on a comprehensive Campaign, Finance and Ethics Code.

Tryon defendants waive hearings

Two of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges have waived their right to preliminary hearings and their arraignments have been set.

Charges dropped against Carney man

A Carney man’s case, which had been scheduled for the upcoming jury trial docket, has been dismissed. Bobby Lloyd Johnston, 64, was arrested on Jan. 11, 2022 as officers served a warrant at 820575 S. 3330 Road in Lincoln County. Originally, he was charged with three felonies and four misdemeanors.

Charges filed in arson cases

A Stroud man faces six felony charges accusing him of setting wildfires in Lincoln County over a period of nearly a year. Two counts of second degree arson and four counts of third degree arson were formally filed Dec. 28 in Lincoln County District Court against Chad Michael Hutson, 48.

Court appearance on kidnapping charges

A Stroud woman, one of two people charged with kidnapping and robbery, has made her initial appearance and a judge has scheduled her preliminary hearing. A $75,000 bench warrant remains in effect for the man who also faces the same charges.
