Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce to meet Tuesday

The monthly Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 9, at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The caterer will be Big Willy’s. The guest speaker will be Oklahoma Army National Guard Major Christopher Isch.

BabyMobile coming to town

The BabyMobile, a mobile formula, food, and diaper pantry, will be in Chandler 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Lincoln County Department of Human Services, 2020 E. First Street. Infant Crisis Services provides assistance to children from birth through age three.

Step-mom: 8 years in starvation case

A Lincoln County jury has convicted the step-mother of child neglect in the near starvation death of her step-son 3 ½ years ago. The jury deliberated less than two hours before returning with a guilty verdict against Amy Adkins Jones.

Schools in area plan Veterans Day events

Area schools are planning various programs to recognize and honor veterans during Veterans Day, Thursday, Nov. 11. A couple of schools are still not allowing outside visitors into their buildings due to COVID-19, but are doing in house observances on that day. Agra School Supt.

More COVID deaths

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties rose by only three compared to 16 a week ago, but the new positive cases increased by more than 750, the most recent Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.

Meeker Town Board meets on administrator

Meeker’s Town Board this week spent nearly an hour in executive session discussing the Town Administrator’s position before entering back into open meeting and voting to take it up again in a special meeting at 7 p.m. this evening.
