Big stink over dead skunk

The length of time is given to those who labor for the good of all man. I guess it is just about impossible to explain, but people who do things have more time even if they don’t realize it. I noticed this when I took off to have so-called fun that time was different.

Four more COVID deaths

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties increased by only four compared to last week, and new positive cases rose only a little more than 200, the most recent Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show.

Charges in Stroud shooting

The State Attorney General’s Office has filed charges against two men reportedly involved in a shooting at an On Cue in Stroud on Oct. 9. The amended information was filed on Oct. 28 in Lincoln County District Court.

County passes budget

Lincoln County commissioners during their meeting this week approved a $11 million budget for Fiscal Year 2021-2022. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the budget totals $11,487,040.12. Commission Chairman Lee Doolen said the budget includes a $100 per month pay raise for each employee.

Meeker rescinds vote

Meeker Town Board of Trustees during a brief special meeting last Friday rescinded an action they took during their Oct. 18 meeting and approved two other items.

Stroud keeps rolling, downs Wewoka

Stroud scored in every period and kept alive its hopes of a first-round playoff game at home with a 26-6 win over Wewoka Friday night. The Tigers are 5-1 in district play and tied with this week’s opponent - Okemah - for second place in District A-7.
