Wellston driver waives hearing

A driver from Wellston facing a felony count of driving while under the influence of alcohol and three other charges following his arrest by a state trooper, has waived his right to a preliminary hearing. Donald Gene Barnett, 51, was arrested by State Trooper Barrett Karlin on July 3.

Charge dropped against Stroud man

A felony count against a Stroud man charged with domestic assault and battery by strangulation has been dismissed eight days after it was filed, court records confirm. The charge against Travis Jacob Simon, 29, was formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 11.

Chandler Chamber to meet

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce meeting will be at noon, Tuesday, Sept. 14, at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The caterer will be Big Willy’s. The guest speaker is Jeanie Jones, a licensed therapist and experienced workplace trainer.

Lincoln County commissioners this week named a new County Emergency Management Director and also approved several more Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority Certificates of Compliance.

Six felony charges waiting for Stroud man

A bench warrant issued for a Stroud man in early June remains outstanding as he now faces a total of six felonies in three separate cases that have been filed against him since early April.

COVID cases keep climbing

The number of new positive COVID-19 cases in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties keeps climbing, the most recent Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. Also, one new death has been reported in each county, according to the OSDH.
