Domestic violence charge filed

A Chandler man faces an Assault and Battery Domestic Violence by Strangulation charge following his arrest by Lincoln County deputies in mid-March. Formal charges were filed in Lincoln County District Court on March 31 against Duane Thomas Souza, 51, court records show.

Chandler man faces drug charges

A Chandler resident faces a felony and three misdemeanors after he was arrested by Chandler police. John Wesley Clark, 48, was formally charged March 19 in Lincoln County District Court with distribution of controlled dangerous substance including possession with intent to distribute, a felony.

Court appearance in Stroud shooting

A Harrah man charged in February with the murder of a 21-year-old Stroud resident, faces another court appearance next month. Cole Berigner Guy, 19, was formally charged Feb. 22 in Lincoln County District Court, accused of shooting and killing Gabriel Chumley with deliberate intent on Feb.

The Stroud American Legion Auxiliary held their April meeting on Monday, April 5th. Members attending were Aleta Smalley, Velma Brant, Maxine Jordan, Diana Reed, Julie Bivin, Linda Waller, Pam Hunt, Jo Braden and Diana McGuire. The meeting was called to order by President Diana Reed.

COVID cases, deaths jump in local area

The number of deaths and new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped again in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. Since March 31, there have been 37 more deaths in Pottawatomie County and 11 in Lincoln County.

Two felony charges filed

A Chandler man faces two felonies following disturbances and incidents involving several people in early March at an apartment complex. Formal charges were filed March 30 in Lincoln County District Court against Nathaniel Donald Boggs, 33.
