Officers from FFA chapters throughout Lincoln County recently participated in the 2020 Oklahoma FFA Chapter Officer Leadership Training Conference at the Embassy Suites in Norman. The conference, planned and conducted by state FFA officers, focused on conflict resolution within a team.

Food giveaway in Wellston

On Friday, Oct. 30, free food will be distributed through the United States Department of Agriculture’s Farmers to Families Food Box Program. The boxes contain a meat product, dairy, fruit and vegetables. This is not a needs based program, so the food can go to anyone without restriction.

Lincoln County jury term set

A jury term is scheduled in Lincoln County and will begin Monday, Oct. 19, County Court Clerk Cindy Kirby has confirmed. The number of cases to be tried will be better determined during a jury call docket set for this Friday morning, Oct. 16.

Fire Prevention Week in Stroud

During Fire Prevention week last week, Stroud firefighters dressed up in their gear and headed into Parkview Elementary to teach student important lessons regarding fire safety. “They’re always excited when we’re there,” Stroud Fire Chief Chris Wilson said. “It was a real good time.
