Christmas is always full of laughs and craziness in my family. This year was a lot calmer and pretty quiet. We started the morning showing Charlee and Tillie that Santa ate the cookies and drank the milk they left out for him. Then we moved on to opening gifts.

Two weeks ago Saturday morning, I was going to put in my hearing aids before coming to the office for a few hours. Curious thing, though. The charger for the aids on the kitchen was knocked on its side and the aid for my left ear was a few inches away.

We’ve arrived at that time of year once more to jot down the resolutions for the coming 12 months. I’m curious to see what 2023 will bring us.

Foy Clyde Sellers

Foy Clyde Sellers was born July 17, 1928 to Theodore and Pearl (Aldridgee) Sellers west of Apache, Oklahoma, near Boone, Oklahoma. On November 9, 1947, he married Gladys Lavonne (Littlefield) Sellers. They had two sons, Hardeman Clyde (Skipper) Sellers and Roy Lee Sellers.

Pearl Leota (Lynch) Young passed away on Saturday, December 24th, 2022, at the age of 100 years. She was a resident of Stroud Oklahoma. Mrs. Young was born November 5, 1922, in rural Lincoln County, Oklahoma, to parents Joseph Daniel and Zelphia Elizabeth (Haymaker) Lynch.

Joan (Yates) Miller passed away on December 24, 2022 in Stroud, OK. She was born January 27, 1928 to Jack and Elizabeth (Bowman) Yates in Woodson, Texas. During her youth, Joan lived in Oklahoma and Colorado. She met Hoyt Miller and they got married June 15, 1948.

Lana R. Perkins

Lana R. Perkins, age 81, passed away on December 18, 2022. She was born on March 21, 1941, in Alliance to Roy W. and AnnaBelle (Humphries) Hardman. Lana earned her Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University and her Master’s from Central State University in Oklahoma.

Fatality on Turner Turnpike

A Texas man died in a multiple vehicle traffic collision on the Turner Turnpike in Lincoln County three days before Christmas, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. State Trooper Shayne Ballard of the Traffic Homicide Division identified the man who died as Adelfino Alaniz, 77, of Freer, Texas.
