Dale hires new employees

The Dale Board of Education Monday evening hired three new support staff employees and appointed a custodian and co-custodian of two funds. Acting School Sup. Ky Wilkins said Jeanna Hartman was hired as the new high school secretary.

CIC holds bean dinner

The Citizens for the Improvement of Chandler are having a bean dinner fundraiser at 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 25. The cost is $8 per person, and you can purchase tickets by contacting a C.I.C. officer or member, or you can purchase tickets at the door.

Stroud Beta Alpha meets

Stroud’s Laureate Beta Alpha Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority members met in May for a wrap up meeting before adjourning for the summer. Linda Stephens, President, presided over the business session and hostess was Vice President, Pam Hunt.

Seminole State College released the names of honor roll students for the 2021 spring semester. Three honor rolls recognize students for their academic achievements. On the President’s Honor Roll for maintaining a perfect 4.

Prague FFA officers named

The new officers for the Prague FFA Chapter were announced at the annual FFA Banquet held at the end of the school year.

Town Talk

Town Talk is working as quickly as we can on the mini-golf course. I know everyone is anxious. I’ve also heard from parents that their kids are asking when it will be ready. Hopefully, by the time you receive your paper this week the fence will be in place, and we can begin moving in the golf holes.

Heat gets to highway 62

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation reported earlier this week that U.S. 62 east of SH 102 in Lincoln County has been repaired. On Monday morning, ODOT narrowed the highway to one lane with flaggers about one mile east of SH 102 between 3330 Rd. and 3340 Rd.

Charges filed on skipper

A bail jumping charge has been filed and a bench warrant issued for a Stonewall man who failed to appear in court last month. A formal charge of bail jumping was filed in Lincoln County District Court on June 10 against Derek Wade Sheldon, about 40.
