Barbara Agnes McCoy

Barbara Agnes McCoy was born February 16, 1937, in Yale, Okla., and died Sunday, August 30, 2020, at her home in Luther, Okla. She was 83 years old. McCoy, the daughter of James Edward and Bertha Agnes (Johnson) Akins, married Bill McCoy on March 3, 1954.

John Thomas Freeman was born to Larnce and Lucille (Cunningham) Freeman on November 30, 1957, in Cushing, Okla. He died Thursday, August 27, 2020, in Wellston at the age of 62 years. John worked as a truck driver.

Steve Allen Deen

Funeral services for Steve Allen Deen will be held 10 a.m., Friday, September 4, 2020 at the Midway Hill Baptist Church, with Pastor Willard McCartney, Jr. officiating. Due to the current Covid pandemic, the family suggests those choosing to attend the service wear face masks.

Meeker Homecoming

Meeker holds its annual football homecoming Friday night, with the queen coronation at 6 p.m. at the football field, followed by the Bulldogs playing Bethel at 7 p.m.

COVID-19 numbers reach 300

The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 in Lincoln County has bumped to the 300 mark this week. In Lincoln and Pottawatomie Counties, the positive numbers combined now stand at 1,175 as of Tuesday, according to the Oklahoma State Department of of Health.

Brenda Ann Stewart-Watlington

Brenda Ann Stewart-Watlington was born to Charles Dean Stewart and Alberta Robinson on October 8, 1963. She died Friday, August 28, 2020, at the age of 56 years. She worked in healthcare, in childcare and as a cashier and night shift manager at Williams Grocery in Chandler .
