176 counts in cockfighting

Two persons from the Harrah area who were arrested in January after law enforcement officers discovered an illegal cockfighting operation in Lincoln County each face 88 felony charges.

State tournament starts on Thursday

The Dale High School basketball teams for the second consecutive year are headed to the Class 2A state tournament that opens play today (Thursday). The teams play at different venues and at different times. Coach Eric Smith’s Lady Pirates square off against Latta at 2 p.m.

Meeker investigation continues

The investigation into a complaint filed last September by former Meeker Vice Mayor Cheryl Buoy asking three agencies to investigate the Town Board ofMeeker apparently is still ongoing. Buoy filed and signed a formal complaint signed last Sep.

Clinton Eugene “Nubbin” Nixon

Clinton Eugene “Nubbin” Nixon was born on November 22nd, 1941 to Newell and Bertha (DeCamp) Nixon in Fresno, California. He passed away February 22nd, 2020 in Jones, Oklahoma at the age of 78. Clinton proudly served his country after he was drafted into the United States Army in 1963.

Weeks joins BancFirst
