North Rock Creek’s middle school golf team of Maddox Munn, Keifer Landes and Jet Smith carded a team score of 349 Monday in the Seminole tournament.

Talking about turkey hunting

Spring turkey hunting season in Oklahoma opens in less than a month. It opens April 6 and it runs through May 6 statewide except for several counties in the southeastern portion of the state. In the eight-county Southeast Region, it opens April 20 and closes May 6.

Ray Vernon Smith

Ray Vernon Smith, 97, of Newalla passed from this life to his rewards in Heaven on March 5, 2020 in Newalla. He was born on January 30, 1923, in Muskogee, OK to Cleo Eral Smith and Clara Emma Gilbert Smith. He was a retired compression station operator from ONG.

Meeker accepts resignations

The Meeker Board of Education Monday night accepted the resignations of two employees and approved the school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year.

NRC adds fourth kindergarten class

North Rock Creek will expand to four kindergarten classes next year, which will be the first time the school has had that many The district’s board hired Cissili Sample to teach the new class. NRC has 76 kindergartners this year, with 80 in pre-k.

Randall wins at McAlester

Zoe Kate Randall competed as a Level 4 gymnast in the MEGA Meet on March 7th in McAlester, OK. Zoe tied for 2nd place in the Level 4 All-Around, with first place finishes on vault and bars. Zoe is on the Rising Star Gymnastics team in Shawnee, with Coach Debbie Simonson.
