There is a new professional football player coming straight out of Lincoln County. Meeker’s Tim ‘T-train’ Whitfield, pictured to the right, has become a part of Moline, IL’s Indoor Football League team, The QuadCity Steam Wheelers.

Going to state...

The Chandler Lions 12u team won the regional tournament last weekend at Perry and will be competing in the Oklahoma Kids State Tournament in Sallisaw starting Tuesday, July 21 - 25. The Lions started the regional tournament playing against Vian. They walked away with a 8-4 victory.

Lions fall in tournament

The Chandler Lions 12u fell during the Muskogee Tournament Saturday, June 27 . The Lions started the tournament against the NCO Wildcats. They suffered a 13 - 4 loss. Then they faced the Oklahoma Rays and suffered a 12 - 4 loss.

Carney continues renovations at school baseball, softball fields

Joe Wilson said, in a special meeting of the Carney Board of Education June 8, that the sidewalk had been finished and that work was started on the softball fence and relocating the bleachers for the baseball and softball fields.

Life lived on the back of a horse

A common love brought Alana Owen, Dawna Weaver and Veva Jiles, pictured to the right, together. A love that they want to share with others - the love of life on the back of a horse. Alana Owen got her first horse when she was five years old and has been riding for over 52 years.

Stroud,Prague pools open for the summer

As the first day of summer draws near and the temperature continues to rise, cities across Lincoln County open their pools. The City of Stroud and Prague have opened their swimming pools.
