Bulldogs fall in quarterfinals

Davenport’s unbeaten string ended at 12 last weekend in the State Class B quarterfinals when Balko handed the Bulldogs a 58-12 defeat in a contest played at Forgan. Veteran Coach John Greenfield, in his 18th season coaching the Bulldogs, said his team’s overall record was 12-1.

Stroud senior Zeb Blancarte, shown at right carrying the ball against Morrison, was named the offensive player of the year in District A-7. Blancarte was the Tigers’ leading rusher for the season, carrying the ball 119 times in 12 games and gaining 826 yards and scoring 12 touchdowns.

Chandler’s season ended Friday night as the Marlow Outlaws showed why they’re undefeated and headed for the state quarterfinals. After Chandler scored on a long drive on its opening possession, the Outlaws put up 38 unanswered points and gradually pulled away, taking a 38-7 victory.

Davenport keeps rolling

Just needing the first half, the Davenport Bulldogs cruised by Keota last Friday night in the second round of the Class B playoffs. The contest was over at halftime. With the win, they are headed to a quarterfinals clash with Balko on the road Friday evening.

Morrison put up 36 points in the middle two periods and ended Stroud’s season with a 42-8 win Friday night in the second round of the playoffs. The Tigers closed out with a 6-6 record and a remarkable turn-around.

Lions roll, 41-13

Chandler’s Lions sputtered in the first half against Perry Friday night, but found their rhythm in the fourth quarter and turned a tight game into a runaway. They led only 14-13 at halftime and 21-13 after three periods, but rang up three touchdowns in the final period to win, 41-13.

Stroud 18, Warner 0

Stroud set a dominating tone early against Warner Friday night, driving 71 yards in 14 plays for a touchdown on the opening possession. That gave the Tigers a 7-0 lead they never relinquished en route to an 18-0 win in the first round of the playoffs.

Davenport manhandles Yale

The Davenport Bulldogs put together nearly 300 yards of offense and shut out Yale last Friday night 48-0 in the first round of the Class B playoffs. With the win, the Bulldogs advance to the second round and will host Keota Friday evening at Bulldog Stadium.

Prague falls to OCA

The Prague Red Devils saw their season come to an end last Friday night when they were defeated 34-8 by the Oklahoma Christian Saints in the first round of the Class 2A playoffs. Prague Coach Mike Hedge said his team’s overall record was 7-4. “I am happy with our effort last Friday night,” he said.
