Paul William Simpson passed away on Monday, September 22, 2025, in Meeker, Oklahoma, at the age of 70. Paul was born on December 26, 1954, in Shawnee, to his parents, Bill and Dorothy Simpson. Paul graduated from Shawnee High School in 1973.

The cheer teams from Chandler High School (above) and Stroud High School (below) perform during the OSSAA Cheer and Game Day Regionals competition on Sept. 20 at the Stroud Route 66 Coliseum. They were two of 10 teams competing in Class 3A. Neither school qualified for State.
