The City of Stroud could be getting a data center.At the regular City Council meeting on March 12, City Manager Bob Pearman updated City Council members on a data center that had expressed interest in building in Stroud, saying they had been transparent about everything.

Birdwell serves as House page

Hope Birdwell, a senior at Prague High School, recently served as a page at the Oklahoma House of Representatives for Rep. Jim Shaw, R-Chandler.Every year, hundreds of juniors and seniors from across the state join in the House High School Page Program at the Oklahoma State Capitol in Oklahoma City.

A second chance through OCS

The bright and airy office was full of the hum of conversation. About 40 people milled around, either standing or sitting. Some chatted with each other. Others waited. A pile of fluorescent vests shines from across the room, where it sat on the floor.Many of the people were smiling or laughing.

Three principals resign

The Chandler School Board approved the resignation of three principals and a high school counselor at its regular meeting on March 9.

Commissioners approve applications

The Lincoln County Commissioners approved a Slip-On Unit grant application for the Fallis Fire Department at a special meeting on March 10 at the courthouse.As Fallis is not a municipality, the application needs to go through the county government to be eligible.

Food Bank Summer Feeding Program

The Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma is now accepting applications for its Summer Feeding Program, according to a press release from the food bank.The program helps feed students up to the age of 18, providing free, nutritious meals and snacks while school is out of session, the press release said.

Area students on UCO Honor Rolls

The University of Central Oklahoma has released its Dean’s and President’s Honor Roll lists for the Fall 2025 semester There were 1,924 students named to the President’s Honor Roll. These students had a “straight A” or 4.0 gradepoint average for the semester.

Prague school board meetings

The Prague School Board held two special meetings recently to approve the FY25 audit and interview superintendent candidates.In the meeting held on Feb. 25, the Board approved the FY25 audit report presented on Feb. 9 by Bledsoe, Hewett and Gullekson.
