Enough with the phone calls

I’m fed up with Spam calls, robo calls, whatever they are called. Not sure about your thoughts on these, but they are simply annoying. One day last week when the cell phone rang, it showed I was getting a Spam risk call from some foreign country.

Town Talk

Last week I missed the deadline for submitting Town Talk to the paper. My husband and I were busy moving the last of our belongings out of our Bartlesville home; those belongings which we now refer to as “junk.” Writing my article just slipped my mind.

Return of the Pottawatomie Co. Fair

It was good to see the Pottawatomie County Free Fair return last week after sitting out a year due to COVID-19. Lincoln County held its annual fair the previous week, although it still held a fair last year as well.

Letter to the editor

Dear Editor, Gone are the days when I could pick up a newspaper and find 15-20 ads for garage sales and make my plans as to where to go. Now, people put them on Facebook and if you’re not Facebook friends, you don’t get that information. Even if you have an ad, you can still put it on Facebook.

How much wood?

How much wood?

How much wood?

I was making the curve right before you hit the straight-away north of the Deep Fork River bottom Tuesday afternoon when - Whoa! What is that heading across the road? A beaver? It was beaverish, for sure, but it had a scruffy tail instead of the flat, rubbery kind that beavers usually prefer.

Letter to the editor

Dear Editor, I want to commend the Stroud Fire Department for their quick response and professional manner as they extinguished the garage fire at our house last Tuesday, Aug. 24th. Thank you again. I wish to each of you the best in life and God’s blessings. Allen Dalton, Stroud
