Meeker school board meeting

Meeker’s Board of Education this week approved the 2023-2024 Temporary Appropriations, hired several new personnel and approved a retirement and a resignation. Board members also approved continuing contracts for certified staff, support staff and extra duty contracts for the 2023-2024 school year.

Trial set in turnpike case

A motorist on the Turner Turnpike charged with trafficking in illegal drugs has pleaded not guilty and waived a speedy trial. Gregory Johnson, 23, with no address listed, was formally charged Jan. 27 this year in Lincoln County District Court with trafficking in illegal drugs.

Town Talk

Town Talk volunteers are selling bricks in Ed. Smalley Centennial Park at the Veteran’s Memorial. Several people have inquired if they could still purchase a brick in the Memorial and the answer is now yes! We have many bricks that are already in place but have not yet been inscribed.

Trial set in traffic death

A jury trial date has been set for an Ada woman bound over on amended charges in connection with a fatal traffic collision that killed a Prague man about 2½ years ago.

Kidnapping charges filed

An Agra man has been charged with kidnapping and two other felonies following his arrest by Lincoln County authorities. A felony charge of kidnapping and two other felony counts were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on May 5 against Terry Lee Ludtke, 63.
