Colonoscopy

I roused briefly from my anesthesiainduced sleep and found myself looking at a large screen with a picture of a pinkish tunnel. How odd. You wouldn’t think they would show movies for people while they are having colonoscopies. And what’s with the tunnel?

Dear editor, The weather forecast sounds like we will jump from summer weather into winter just overnight. Frost probably Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Daytime weather falling from fun mild summer like conditions to subfreezing and snow just overnight.

A surprise vacation

Cold rain covered us as we walked down to the salty ocean waves. I felt an overwhelming sense of relief from the stress that had been erupting in my life. Maybe it was relief from being crammed in the car for a 13-hour trip. Honestly, it was both. The girls had never been on a trip that long.

Trick or Treat time almost here

This year’s Trick or Treat night is coming up fairly quickly. The official Trick or Treat night is Oct. 31, which is a Monday evening this year. Last year around our place, we could see that people again were becoming more comfortable with these kinds of activities. In 2020, not so much.

Town Talk

Just three weeks until the Andrew Sisters Tribute Show comes to Stroud. The American Legion Auxiliary and Town Talk volunteers are hosting the show at the American Legion building on Saturday, November 12th at 7:00 p.m.

Meeker raises cost for water taps and meters

Meeker’s Town Board, meeting as the Public Works Authority, voted unanimously this week to increase the fees on water taps, water meter taps and sewer taps.
