The sound of engines filled the air as Ralph Snider’s jet dragster sent off billows of smoke and flame before launching itself down the track. Now vice mayor of McLoud who builds cars in his spare time, Ralph Snider’s love for fast cars goes back to his childhood.

Commissioners declare disaster

Lincoln County commissioners have declared the county a disaster area due to the recent flooding from heavy rainfall. Some areas reportedly received up to 15-16 inches. They took the action during an emergency meeting on June 30.

The Friends of Silk Stocking Row in Chandler held their 1st Annual Sip and Stroll 2-3 p.m., Sunday, July 4, on the lawns and sidewalks of 8th and 9th Streets between Steele and Price. The event was organized by Kim Huffman and Deanna Trippler.

Hearing continued in Harrah homicide

A preliminary hearing has been continued for a Harrah man charged in the February murder of a 21-year-old Stroud resident. Cole Berginer Guy, 19, was formally charged Feb. 22 in Lincoln County District Court, accused of shooting and killing Gabriel Chumley with deliberate intent on Feb.

Three felonies filed against Stroud man

A Stroud resident faces three felonies and a misdemeanor following his arrest in early June. Joshua Phillip Akers, 37, was formally charged recently in Lincoln County District Court.

We must keep our mind where we can make our self a child of God by following Jesus. Jesus did many things to prove that He was the one that we are to hear. In the King James Version, we can find Jesus teaching us how to get away from our own ways to the way of the Father.

Charges filed in chase

A Guthrie man faces a felony and four misdemeanors after fleeing from law enforcement officers and eluding them for several hours. Formal charges were filed June 22 in Lincoln County District Court against Paul Jimmy Laray Fox, 27.
