For art forms such as theater that revolve around interpersonal connection, social distancing is difficult. To address these challenges, Chandler high school speech and drama teacher Inda Jo Conway resurrected Chandler’s speech and debate team.

Meeker’s Board of Education adopted a resolution this week setting the date and time for the sale of its $850,000 bonds approved during last week’s election. A new board member was sworn in and the board also approved holding this year’s commencement exercises at Firelake Arena.

Betty Nickerson Hall was born July 17, 1924 in Pasadena, Calif., and died March 25, 2021 while residing in Meeker, Okla. On May 29, 1941 she married Warren Hall, originally of Crawford, Neb. During WWII they moved between New York City, Boston, Vallejo, Calif., and Quonset Point, R.I.
