Commission appoints board members

Lincoln County Commissioners this week appointed members to six different boards and approved a purchase contract for a tractor and mower. Commissioners reappointed Chairmen Lee Doolen to the Circuit Engineering District No. 4.

Meeker approves ordinances

The Town Board this week approved two new ordinances for the second time in about a month. The new ordinances deal with governing garage sales in the Town of Meeker and the Public Competitive Bidding Act.

Fire destroys house

Three people escaped a burning house late Saturday night outside of Chandler. The three people inside were all adults, Chandler Fire Chief Billy Buchannon said. Assistant Fire Chief Bobby Buchannon said the house was located at 920646 S. 3420 Road outside the Chandler city limits.

More COVID deaths

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has increased again in Pottawatomie County over the last past week, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports. Four additional deaths have been reported in Pottawatomie County.
