There is nothing more important than learning about the kingdom of God. I have said this many times, and if we do what Jesus said to look for this first and the righteousness of God, these things we are looking for will change. When we see the kingdom of heaven, we will see Jesus even the Father.

Blackberry display completed

After a year of hard work by many volunteers, interruptions by COVID-19, and cancellation of two annual fundraisers, McLoud Historical Society Museum and Heritage Center announces completion of a display featuring three decades of blackberries.

COVID cases, deaths keep climbing

The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 has jumped by five in Pottawatomie County and by one in Lincoln County in the last few days, the Oklahoma State Department of Health reports.

Dip in education sales tax

The education sales tax figures in December show a decline from November in all of the three area school districts in Pottawatomie County that receive it and for the DA Justice Center, the Pottawatomie County Treasurer’s office reports.

Stroud Auxiliary Christmas

The American Legion Auxiliary treated Legion members to an early Christmas gift on Friday, December 17, 2020 at Stroud’s local McDonald’s. The Auxiliary purchased breakfast for veterans and their wives and McDonald’s donated their drinks.

Stroud man charged with felony assault

A Stroud man has been charged in Lincoln County with a felony following his arrest by Stroud police in December. Brandon Darrell Gordon, 42, was formally charged on Dec. 28 last month in Lincoln County District Court with Domestic Assault and Battery in presence of a minor.

Entering vaccine Phase 2

Oklahoma State Department of Health officials have announced they are beginning to transition to Phase 2 of the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccines and individuals 65 and older are among those scheduled to receive it.

Election for Fair Board

The Lincoln County Commissioners this week adopted a resolution accepting the filing period and setting the date for the election of the Board of Directors of the Fair Board. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon advised the board the filing period is the final week of January, Jan.
