A couple of weeks ago, my good friend Steve Buoy and I journeyed out to western Oklahoma and enjoyed a fall turkey hunt. We each bagged a gobbler as did one of Steve’s cousins, Denton, who happened to be out there and hunted with us.

Stroud falls at Colcord

Stroud got out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, but fell to Colcord in the first round of the Class A playoffs. Blake Parrick hit Dylan Collins on a 6-yard scoring pass early in the second quarter, putting Stroud up 6-0, and found him again just before halftime for a 14-yard touchdown.

Chandler dominated its first-round playoff game against Alva Friday night, building a 21-6 lead in the first quarter and winning, 49-19.

McLoud falls at Plainview, 41-6

McLoud High School’s football season came to an end last Friday night when the Redskins dropped a 41-6 decision to Plainview in the first round of the playoffs. Coach Rusty Hall said, “We just didn’t play very well. Collin (senior quarterback) Gibson wasn’t nearly as mobile with his injured knee.
