Charges filed in shooting near Wellston

A Midwest City man, who already has been convicted of at least 18 felonies, faces three more following a Lincoln County shooting near Wellston last month that injured a person. Casey Mac Wilson, 42, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Feb.

Hearings set on charges of running roadblocks

A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a driver facing two felonies for running a pair of roadblocks. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 1 with two felony counts of running a roadblock.

Hearing set in Meeker case

A Meeker man charged for an incident about 1½ years has made his initial appearance and a hearing has been scheduled. Charles Lee Green, 67, was formally charged Feb.

Weeks to stand trial

A Shawnee man facing more than 30 felony charges of sex-related crimes with minors has been bound over to stand trial and his arraignment has been set. The 34 felony charges were formally filed in Pottawatomie County District Court on Dec. 15, 2022 against Danny Ray Weeks, Jr., 52.

Arrest made in Stroud high speed chase

A driver who already has multiple felony convictions faces four new charges after he reportedly led Stroud police on a high speed pursuit and was arrested. Dustin Don Secrest, 41, of Coweta, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court March 10 with two felonies and two misdemeanors.

Chandler announces valedictorians, salutatorian

Chandler High School has announced its valedictorians and salutatorian for the Class of 2023. The valedictorians are Emma Cummings, Sadie Sherman, Ahna Smith, Ethan Stone, Laryssa Nunn, Claire Irby, Brittany Robbins and Shayla Robbins. The salutatorian is Chace Massie.

Chandler Public Schools announced that their February Lions of the Month are Claire Irby and Paige Navarro. Claire is the daughter of Joseph and Tracy Irby. She maintains a 4.0 GPA while taking advanced English courses.
