Town Talk along with the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary will hold a Memorial Day Ceremony at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 25th at the Stroud Cemetery. There will be a short program and a 21-gun salute to honor our deceased veterans.

Fatality in Sparks

An occupational accident on a construction site at a church in Sparks has claimed the life of a Stillwater man, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Capt. Chuck Brewer confirmed. Brewer identified the victim as Jose Escobedo, 21.

Prague High School senior Graceyn Hyden has completed a week of service as a page for Sen. Zack Taylor, R-Seminole. Hyden served during the ninth week of session from March 29-April 1. Hyden is a member of FFA, Business Professionals of America, and the National Honor Society.

Chandler accepts resignations, hires new teacher and driver

The Chandler Board of Education accepted the resignation of three people and hired a new teacher and a bus driver during its meeting this week. A bid was approved for the East Side Elementary School parking lot and a bid also was approved for the lease of 10 school buses.

Wellston man faces charges

A Wellston man faces a felony and a misdemeanor following his arrest in March by Lincoln County deputies. Lucas James Goss, 21, was formally charged on April 5 in Lincoln County District Court with assault, battery or assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
