Andrew Sokol, Jr. was born February 9, 1941, in Nemacolin, Pennsylvania, to Andrew Sr. and Elda (Fortney) Sokol. He passed away on May 15, 2026, in his home in Wellston at the age of 85.Andrew served his country proudly in the United States Army, playing bass horn in their band.

Beta Sigma Phi celebrates 95th Founder’s Day

Psi Master chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Stroud, joined thousands of members throughout the world to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the organization on April 30, 1931. It was also the 47th anniversary of the chartering of the local chapter.

Seven adults charged with four felony counts of child neglect from Davenport have had their cases continued.Jasmine Stewart, Ray Mitchum Sr., Juanita Mitchum, Joyce Mitchum, Alicia Mitchum, Rex. R. MitchumandRayMitchum Jr. all had pre-preliminary hearings on May 14. All were continued until July 9.
