A number of students in bands all over the county auditioned for the East Central Oklahoma Band Directors’Association Honor Band on Nov. 8. Many lucky musicians were able to make the bands either at the middle school, junior high, or high school level.

Suspect waives hearing on sex charges

Aman who was arrested by Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation agents several months ago and was formally charged in Pottawatomie County District Court with seven sex-related felonies against minors has waived his preliminary hearing on all seven original charges filed against him.

Turnpike: the end is in sight

The over-year-long project to rebuild the turnpike bridge over Route 66 and prepare for future widening at Wellston is not quite done yet, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) said State Highway 66 in Wellston could be reopened as early as mid-November.

Thanksgiving deadline

Hearing set in manslaughter

A final pre-preliminary has been scheduled for a Meeker man facing a first degree manslaughter charge after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a fatal multiple traffic collision in Lincoln County in late August has made an initial appearance and a further hearing has been scheduled.
