1. Update on Meeker Lake “Quapaw 15 Project A. The camera inspection has been completed. Now we wait on the engineer’s report. This is the pipeline from the concrete water tower that goes under the dam. Also, the contractor has put the 24-inch pipe back together.

Good neighbor and a flag pole

For many years my wife Pat has wanted us to have a flag pole in the front yard so we can proudly fly Old Glory. I’m here to inform you that now has been accomplished. I also give much and most of the credit to my neighbor and friend Bret Ellard.

Painting the Meeker fieldhouse

Volunteers showed up Saturday morning to repaint the fieldhouse at Meeker’s Bulldog Stadium. Above is Lauren Miller, a sophomore and kicker on the team. Top right are Caden Wolford, a senior, and Kobe Norton, a senior. Below right are Angel and Billy Wolford, volunteers and parents of Caden.

Education sales tax show slight jump

The education sales tax figures in August show a slight jump over July in two of three area school districts in Pottawatomie County and for the DA Justice Center, the Pottawatomie County Treasurer’s office reports.

A time to smile

We had a full schedule of high school sports last week for the first time since COVID-19 came calling last March, and that put smiles on a lot of faces.

Meeker accepts resignations

The Meeker Board of Education Monday night accepted the resignations of two employees and approved the school calendar for the 2020-2021 school year.

NRC adds fourth kindergarten class

North Rock Creek will expand to four kindergarten classes next year, which will be the first time the school has had that many The district’s board hired Cissili Sample to teach the new class. NRC has 76 kindergartners this year, with 80 in pre-k.
