Meeker board approves budget

Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees have voted to approve the proposed General Fund and Public Works Authority budgets for 2023-2024. Their actions came during a recent special meeting. Town Clerk and Treasurer Mary Conner said the Trustees voted 3-1 in favor of approving the budgets.

Hearing set for McLoud teacher

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a McLoud High School teacher facing three felonies after she was arrested on charges for allegedly soliciting sex with minors by use of technology.

Dorothy (Hoy) Spilman was born July 7, 1940 in Baltimore, Maryland to James and Josephine (Wright) Hoy. She passed away May 21, 2023 in Oklahoma City at the age of 82. Dorothy lived in Chandler over 40 years. She married Bill Spilman and tended their farm together.

Ready to go to trial

A woman charged with harboring her brother from justice has announced she’s ready for trial. Kara Vancuren, 34, of Prague, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court July 29, 2022 with harboring a fugitive from justice.

Meeker Memorial Day

A large dedicated group of people gathered at the pavilion at Meeker New Hope Cemetery, Monday at 11:30 a.m. The group gathered to honor active duty, veterans who are no longer serving, and those who died in the performance of their military duties while serving in the US Armed Forces.

Democrats to meet

Meeker hearing continued

A pre-preliminary hearing has been continued again for a Meeker man who was arrested after officers served a search warrant on his residence across from the Town Hall. A formal felony charge was filed in Lincoln County District Court Sep. 23 against John Henry Hagar, 34.
