Debra Ann Grissom

Debra Ann (Friskup) Grissom of Prague was born September 26, 1961, in Gaylord, Minn. She died Thursday, April 29, 2021, in Oklahoma City at the age of 59 years. Grissom, the daughter of L. Kent and Judy Ann (Malm) Friskup, married Michael Ray Grissom on December 22, 1979.

Phyllis Ann Morton

Phyllis Ann (Evans) Morton was born December 5, 1941, in Warwick and died Sunday, May 2, 2021, in Chandler. She was 79 years old. Morton, the daughter of Argyle Wayne and Juanita Mae (Hopkins) Evans, married Gene Morton on December 24, 1960. She was of the Christian faith.

Grace M. McGuffee

Grace M. McGuffee was born November 27, 1947, in Mount Holly, N.J., and died Saturday, April 24, 2021, at her home in Chandler. She was 73 years old. McGuffee, the daughter of Joe and Lydia Riker, married Ronald McGuffee on September 7, 1978, in Oklahoma City.

COVID cases climb in area

The number of new cases in the area attributed to COVID-19 has jumped a bit in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties, Oklahoma State Department of Health figures show. There have been two new deaths in Pottawatomie County but none in Lincoln County since the last report.

The Chandler Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon will be at noon, Tuesday, May 11, at the Route 66 Interpretive Center. The caterer will be Big Willy’s. The guest speaker is Garrett Kennedy, Business Developer for Express Employment Professionals.

CHS Alumni activities are planned

The Chandler High School Alumni Board announced that alumni activities will be held this year albeit with changes from previous years. On Friday, May 14, the Annual Golf Tournament will start at 1 p.m. The dances have been canceled but activities with classes are encouraged.

Prague FFA members compete

Members of the Prague FFA Chapter took part in various competitions last month. The Shotgun Team competed at the DJ’s Meet Shoot Out with the boy’s team placing third overall.
