Arthur Phelan of Stroud was born March 31, 1948, in Muldrow, Okla., and died Sunday, December 20, 2020 in Stroud. He was 72 years old. Phelan, the son of Henry and Nettie (Crowley) Phelan, married Lillie Ann (Hobbs) Howard on October 3, 1968.

Graveside services will be held for Julius “Max” Hudson, at 11 a.m., today, December 31, 2020, at Blackburn Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Shawnee. Family members ask that attendees wear a mask. Hudson was born July 29, 1925, near Vinita, Okla.

Tracy Scott Tillis of Chandler was born January 21, 1972, in Chandler. He died Saturday, December 19, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 48 years. Tillis, a 1990 graduate of Chandler High School, attended the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond.

Mary Katherine Allen of Newalla, Okla., was born June 28, 1942, in Hillsboro, Kan. She died Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the age of 78 years. Allen, the daughter of Abraham and Doris Dalke, married Larry R. Allen on December 28, 1978.

Even amid the pandemic, we “heard the bells” on Christmas Day at Prairie Pointe. We enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, sparkling grape juice and eggnog before a grand meal of smoked turkey and ham. Wirt Trawick offered the blessing.

1. Update on T-SET (Tobacco Settlement) A. 12 signs were placed on Culver St. designating it as a bicycle pathway to and from our Elementary School. This should elevate our T-SET program to a Gold level. This will mean an additional $12,000 we will receive.
