Walter Darrell Cooksey

Walter Darrell Cooksey, 97, of McLoud, Okla., passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at his residence. The Rosary will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in McLoud followed by funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.

Frankie Humphrey Sr.

Frankie Humphrey Sr. was born March 13, 1938 in Davenport, Okla. He was the sixth of eight children born to Daniel Sr. and Awildia (McArther) Humphrey. He was called home on August 1, 2021, after 83 years of life.

Michael Shane Hoyt, 49, of McLoud departed for distant shores on Saturday, July 31, 2021, after an 18-month struggle with cancer. Michael was born to Anne Murray and Ken Hoyt on February 22, 1972 in Joplin, Mo.

Jonathan Howard Mitchell

Jonathan Howard Mitchell was born September 2, 1956, in Marysville, Calif. He died Thursday, July 29, 2021, in Shawnee, Okla., at the age of 64 years. Mitchell, aka “Shoog” or “Jonnie,” graduated from high school in 1974 and served in the United States Army.

Paula Rae Trosclair

Paula Rae Trosclair was born June 24, 1951, in Flint, Mich. She died Thursday, July 29, 2021, in Wellston at the age of 70 years. Trosclair, raised in Burton, Mich., worked as an activities director for St. Ann’s Nursing Home.

Darlene Hixon

Darlene Hixon was born to James “Jim” Leo Hixon and Carol Hicks on May 17, 1960, in Cushing, Okla. She died Monday, July 19, 2021, in Tulsa, Okla., at the age of 61 years. Darlene, formerly of Lincoln County, worked as a receptionist at a doctor’s office. She was preceded in death by her father.

Anna “Sue” Parks

Anna “Sue” Parks, 83, of Meeker, passed away at her home, Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Saturday, July 24, 2021, at the New Hope Cemetery of Meeker. Pastor Dave Price will officiate.

Geraldine “Gerri” Smith

Geraldine “Gerri” Smith, long time resident of Chandler, Okla., passed away on July 20, 2021 at the age of 91. Gerri was born August 10, 1929 in Pauls Valley, Okla., to Wes and Mae (Ward) Pruitt. She married A.A.

Linda Jane (Buehner) Rhodes

Linda Jane (Buehner) Rhodes, 69, formerly of Chandler, was born to Frank Joseph and Matilda Mary (Gramc) Buehner on March 8, 1952, in Geneva, Ohio. She died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at her home on Grand Lake.

Mark Kevin Watkins

Mark Kevin Watkins was born October 27, 1961 in Shawnee, Okla. He entered his eternal home July 17, 2021 at the age of 59. Mark grew up in Meeker where he graduated from Meeker High School in 1979. He then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a baseball scholarship.
