Four students from Lincoln County high schools have been selected as Academic All Staters 2022 by the Oklahoma Foundation of Excellence. They are among 100 students statewide chosen for the prestigious award.

Drug bust

Two marijuana growing operations in Lincoln County were among a dozen locations across Oklahoma where search warrants were served, facilities shut down and plants were seized and destroyed last week.

Meeker rehires administrators

Meeker Board of Education members during a meeting this week rehired administrators and the athletic director. They also listened to a presentation by Bledsoe, Hewitt and Gullekson on the 2020-2021 audit.

Additional charges for Stroud man

A Stroud man who was wanted on a $15,000 bench warrant has appeared in Lincoln County District. But he also faces additional charges in a separate case. Nicholas James Worden, 42, of Stroud, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Jan.

Child abuse charges filed

Bench warrants were recently issued for the arrest for a couple for allegedly abusing an eight-year-old child. A charge of child abuse was formally filed in Lincoln County District Court Feb. 8 against Aaron Curtis Richardson, 29, of Tryon.

Woman dies in crash

A McLoud woman died Monday night in a single vehicle collision north of Stroud in Lincoln County. Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Jacob Hunn identified the woman killed in the collision as Autumn Johnson, 33.

LC Republicans to meet

Members of the Lincoln County Republican Party will meet 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 21, at the Rt. 66 Bowl, 920 E. First Street in Chandler. Come early if you want to order food. The schedule of upcoming speakers will be discussed.

Patrons in two Lincoln County school districts have elected board members and Lincoln County voters who reside in the Cushing School District helped approved a bond issue. In Prague, Jarrod Van-Zant defeated incumbent Thomas L. Palmer and Adam D. Hogue to win the Office No.

County buys equipment

Lincoln County commissioners this week voted to purchase a John Deere Tractor and Boom Mower for District 3. District 3 Commissioner Lee Doolen, who is also chairman of the commission, explained the purchase was to replace a mower that had been stolen.
