Charges filed in knife injuries case

A woman has been charged with two felonies after she was arrested for allegedly stabbing two persons in an incident in Sparks recently. Loren Ashley Holman, 33, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Jan. 26 with two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Murder trial reset for June 6

A Lincoln County District judge has continued a jury trial for a Harrah man charged with first degree murder who was scheduled to be tried next week. Cole Berginer Guy, 19 at the time, was formally charged Feb.

Charges against Chandler man

A man was charged with two felonies and two misdemeanors following his arrest recently by Chandler police and he also admitted to taking meth. Formal felony charges of first degree burglary and protective order violation were filed in Lincoln County District Court Jan.

Pedestrian fatality on Turner Turnpike

A pedestrian died early Wednesday morning after he was reportedly struck by a vehicle on the Turner Turnpike west of Stroud in Lincoln County. State Trooper Spears identified the victim as Russell Mitchell, 49, of Glencoe. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Stroud Fire Department.

We had to wait four weeks before we could receive our second Moderna shot, but by the end of February we had it. Eight months later we received our third shot, the booster, and we were glad we did.

Dale approves stipends

Dale School Board members this week voted to approve stipends for all certified and support personnel using Esser II funds. Acting School Supt. Ky Wilkins explained that certified teachers who were at Dale last year will each receive $1,400.

A special investigative audit has found that more than $95,000 was misappropriated in the Town of Tryon and that three former employees reportedly misappropriated almost $80,000 in payroll.
