Bulldogs win

For the 19th consecutive year under Head Coach John Greenfield, the Davenport Bulldodgs are headed to the playoffs after defeating Depew 30-12 in the final regular season game for both teams. With the win, the Bulldogs finish the regular season at 6-4, placing third in the district with a 4-2 mark.

Pardon me boys, it’s not the Chattanooga Choo-Choo but it is the next best thing. The Andrew Sisters Tribute Trio will be in Stroud this Saturday night at the Assembly of God Family Life Center at 7:00 p.m.

Suspects in court on endangerment charges

Two men facing child endangerment and drug-related charges following their arrest recently by Lincoln County deputies have made their initial appearances. Their pre-preliminary hearings are set. The two were arrested in the parking lot of a store at U.S. 177 and U.S. 62.

Dale sets school board election vote

The Dale Board of Education this week adopted a resolution calling for the annual school election for Board of Education Office No. 3. That position is currently held by Board President Ronnie Newton. He said prior to Monday night’s board meeting he will seek another term.

Nurse charged in child abuse case

A woman who was employed as a full time in-home nurse has been charged with child abuse following her arrest recently by Lincoln County deputies. Candice Elizabeth Bootenhoff, 39, of Luther was formally charged Oct. 31 in Lincoln County District Court with felony child abuse.

Playoff football

Chandler, Prague, Stroud and Davenport open the football playoff season Friday night, with all but Davenport having a home game. The Lions host Hennessey at 7 p.m. at Joe Telford Stadium, Prague hosts the Hugo Buffaloes at 7 p.m. and the district champion Tigers host Chelsea.

The Winners:

Green Kerbs Voters in Lincoln County elected a new District 1 County commissioner and helped choose a new district judge and a new state senator in Tuesday’s General Election. They also elected a new member of the Board of Directors for Lincoln County Southwest Fire District.
