Danny and Pamela Clement of Stroud reached their 50th year of marriage on Saturday, June 13, 2020. They plan to celebrate at a later date. Danny Clement and Pamela Dycus were married June 13, 1970, in Choctaw, Okla. The couple has resided in Lincoln County for 25 years.

Austin Reedy’s day starts at 5:30 in the morning. His job is to bottle feed the calves on his family’s dairy farm and get cattle ready for his milk hand. His hard work on and off the farm have not gone unnoticed.

The memories of pretty dresses, loud music and late night dancing will be had by Wellston juniors and seniors, despite the COVID-19 closures. The parents of the Wellston High School 2020 seniors are hosting a Prom on June 26 at 7:00 p.m. at the Rusty Mallard in Chandler.

Farmers insurance donated to Chosen House, Helping Hands

Skip and Tracy Smith with Farmers Insurance donated a total of $2,000 to two local nonprofit organizations in Chandler, the Chosen House and the Helping Hands Community Foundation. Skip said half the money came from Farmers Insurance and the other half came from them personally.

Chandler Public Library is open

The Chandler Public Library is open again with regular hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday. Like most every other public facility, though, it is open with restrictions.

Couple to celebrate Golden Anniversary

Jim and Vera Bierd of Stroud are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary on June 12th. Jimmy Frank Bierd and Vera Mae (Teters) Quinn were married June 12, 1970 in Stroud. Jim worked at Sun Oil Company and Stroud Oil Company until his retirement. He is also an ordained minister.

Marshall “Slim” and Mary Ruth (Kay) Taylor will celebrate their 70 th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, May 26. The couple was united in marriage on May 26, 1950 in Shawnee, Okla. They have resided in Lincoln County since 1953 having lived in Chandler since 1956.
